About Us

RAHOK is a Mayan Q’eqchi word which is the “action of Love.” Love, as a theory or idea doesn’t exist. Love asks us to act courageously to transform that which causes hurt or harm to people and the planet.

Our Values (RAHOK)

  • Race

Race, gender, class, and many other identities are constructed hierarchically to exploit and divide. As a two-spirit family we stand in solidarity with our Black relatives advocating for reparations and anti-blackness; with our Indigenous relatives demanding sovereignty and protection of sacred sites; the undocumented to honor migration; our disabled to move with dignity, our youth and elders to feel safe and rejoiced. We stand with all communities.

  • Ancestors

Our indigenous communities and elders are the closest connection we have to our ancestors. They lived on our earth with zero waste, renewable resources and by stewarding the land. Drawing from today’s innovations and our ancestors we can cultivate a world through mindful movement and land stewardship that add value to our world without harming the environment or communities through such things as pollution or displacement.

  • Health

The u.s.a government produced research and data highlights that inequalities, racism, and injustice are huge Social Determinants of Health. In communities of color there are higher rates of infant mortality, diabetes, respiratory and heart related diseases and a lower life-expectancy. Through Land Stewardship and bike medicine we can address some of these health disparities. We believe in total nourishment of our body, mind, spirit, emotions and energy.

  • Outdoors

Loving ourselves is unanimous with loving earth. Self-love requires unearthing our true nature beyond identity, role, or work; spending time in the mountains, rivers, and amidst the trees helps us connect to the essence of love. We bring our true nature to home and land ownership / stewardship biased towards restoring native flora and fauna. We organize strategic planning sessions or retreats that help connect everyone to Race, Ancestors, Health and the Outdoors, even within the urban context.

  • Knowledge

RAHOK provides platforms for productive interchange of ideas and knowledge that your family or team can use in transformative ways, whether you're buying a home, facilitating a strategic discussion, or working on research. Truthful knowledge may bring unease but in the name of love RAHOK will not waiver but instead hold space. We cultivate Eco-Hoods, be it a home or work, where all beings and members, including the invisibilized workforce can experience love.
